The success of the Indian Bay Ecosystem corporation depends on community involvement. Community meetings are held to discuss the results of the research conducted in the watershed area and to allow the community to make decisions on how to proceed.

To assess local residents and tourists, attitude surveys are conducted. These surveys help the understanding of the community's expectations and what is or is not acceptable to them in terms of management.

Creel surveys are carried out in the winter months by researchers from the Indian Bay Ecosystem Corporation. This allows the collection of data pertaining to the number, length, weight and general health of the fish. Winter 2005 Creel survey results show the average size of Indian Bay trout caught to be 30 cm. The average time to catch a trout was 1.2 hours.
