Mr. Jim Potter, a retired Transcona Shops employee, explains what it was like to build the Armoured Train.
"The first impression of the armoured train. Well, I guess it didn't come as a direct notification to us that we were going to do an armoured train. I think that it just gradually - ever so gradually- it just happened. The cars started to come into the shops and the drawings appeared for what we had to do and we just went at it just the same as we would repair any other car except that it was heavier work, much heavier."
