TRANSCRIPT

By the old Penticton roundhouse, at the south end of town
It's a cheery blossom April day, steam pipe blowin' down
The engineer with his long oil can, oiling the old valve gear
We're waitin' in the hole for a passenger train to clear

If I could role back the years
To my long lost childhood time
An' those memories of
The Kettle Valley Railway line

Creakin' steel, puffing steam, inchin' down the line
Watchin' an' a waitin' for the Clear Board sign
The dispatcher calls, the light turns green, no more time to wait
We're rollin' out to Princeton, with a ten car local freight.

If I could role back the years
To my long lost childhood time
An' those memories of
The Kettle Valley Railway line

High in that handbomber cab, throttle in his hand
The nogger eyes the steam gauge while lettin' down the sand
We're easin' out on the old main line, rollin' down the track
If only in my wishful dreams, those steam train days would come back

If I could role back the years
To my long lost childhood time
An' those memories of
The Kettle Valley Railway line
