Building the school house began in 1915. It measured 22' x 28' and was comprised of one classroom and two cloakrooms.
The first teacher was Miss Bessie Lakken. The school was closed in 1943 and students were transported to Crane Valley by school bus.
The school reopened in the fall of 1944 and was in operation until 1951, and then the students resumed the trek to Crane Valley School.
A student of Bliss School - Donald Green - interested in chemistry even as a child, became part of the team of physicists who developed, designed and fathered the first cobalt bomb at Chalk River, Ontario, Canada. This item of interest appeared in the Moose Jaw Time-Herald, November 19, 1951.
