'Johanna had three sisters that were married to Canadian soldiers, and two were already [here]. One in Saskatchewan and one was in New Brunswick. And we landed in Ontario. So Johanna's mother thought, if we were right between the two, we could visit one, one day and the other, the other day… (laughter) Didn't realize how big the country was. But that was one of the reasons we came here, see, because they left in 1946, I think? (Johanna: Yes) and we came in 1948.'
