The Silver King - From Discovery to Community

TRANSCRIPT

A log cabin had been remodeled into a school and there were about twenty pupils. We liked our teacher who took us on hikes on Saturday, teaching us the names of many of the wildflowers. At Christmas the wife of the Superintendent gave us a Christmas tree for all the children in camp. All crowded into the school, the tree was beautiful, and each child received a gift. The children did their share by singing and reciting. Someone brought a phonograph, the only one on the hill, which added to the entertainment. I remember the big horn with flowers painted inside.
