TRANSCRIPT

I belong to the Key Club. Its purpose is to help those in the community who are in need. I joined in my second year of secondary school and after a while became the secretary and publicist. Now, I'm president of the club. The club makes it possible to assist people in difficulty, like sick children in hospitals. We also visit elderly people in residences and do volunteer work at Cooke Hospital. Work like this prevents us from dwelling so much on our own problems and helps us overcome obstacles more easily. Being a member of the Key Club showed me I had leadership qualities and a talent for public speaking. Otherwise, I might never have known this. As president of the club, I was called upon to speak in front of a number of people to explain its mission and activities. On the whole, I'd say the club has helped me a great deal in life.
