December 26, 1884.
Last night when Papa came home from Mr. Smithy's we had supper and then went down to Mr. Smith's. Mama did not want to come so she stayed at home. The fiddlers did not come as it was snowing so, but Mr. Shorty went up the river and got a man that could play the mouth organ so we had some dancing (also a good bit of singing) I danced in 4 quadrilles. We did not get home until eight o'clock.
