folk dance troupe. Along
with the troupe's archives,
the Centre has collected and
kept throughout the years a
remarkable documentation
about folk art. With this
exhibition, the MBDC opens up
parts of its archives, thus
allowing you to appreciate
the evolution, variety and
| authenticity of Les
Sortilèges' stage wardrobe.
From traditional and rural
folklore to urban folklore,
from Canadian costumes to
ethnic costumes, Les
Sortilèges accumulated a
wardrobe of up to 2,000
pieces. We invite you to
(re)discover this wardrobe
| which illustrates the
troupe's life on stage,
backstage and throughout
their amateur and
professional years, and which
testifies to the incredible
richness of Québec's cultural
heritage.
Please note that the
costumes and events presented
| do not constitute an
exhaustive list of Les
Sortilèges' many creations.

in-depth research, you may
