   This exhibit presents an
exploratory journey through
several communities across
Northern Ontario, profiling
many of the arts
organizations of the region
along the way. Through an
examination of these
organizations, their history,
their communities and their

current organizational focus,
we hope to demonstrate the
contributions that Northern
Ontario makes to the arts and
culture of our country and to
promote these organizations
to the Canadian public.
   Beginning in Callander,
ON the journey takes us north
along Highway 11 to Thunder

Bay with stops in the
communities of Temagami,
Cobalt, Temiskaming Shores,
and Hearst. From Thunder Bay
we will backtrack to Highway
17, traveling east through
Sault Ste. Marie, M'Chigeeng,
and Greater Sudbury to finish
our tour in the City of North
Bay. This journey takes us

across more than 2,500
kilometers of highway and
covers the largest area in
Canada that can be travelled
without crossing a border.
   The profiles of each
organization will include a
map showing their location in
Ontario, a brief statement
about their community, images
