The station was carefully restored and given a new shingle roof. A new station platform was built and a short section of track laid. The station re-opened as a regional information centre.

The Kettle River Museum left its old home in the centre of Midway and became a beautiful new museum building on the Midway Station grounds. It opened in 1992. The Museum displays artifacts related to every aspect of life in the Boundary, at home and at work: from recreation and ranching to railroading and forestry. Most of the artifacts have been donated by Boundary residents over the years .

The Station is dedicated to railway travel. Visitors can wander through the waiting room, the office and the kitchen, and visit the two speeders and original KVR-era-caboose on the short section of track out front. Climb aboard!
