Milltown and Head Bay d'Espoir was one of these larger areas, and between the 60's and 70's, experienced a large influx of families who were affected by the resettlement. Some families moved in and brought their homes with them by schooner, either in pieces or whole, and others received grants to build new homes. Although some were resistant to the idea of leaving their homes, the general consensus after the resettlement was that it was a positive thing for the affected families and communities.
