After the move, although their new house was not finished, the Priddle family adjusted very quickly to life in Milltown. It took a month for the family to get running water and have their house finished, but they were able to get water from their neighbor, Millie Strickland. Once they got the house settled, said Ruth, she found it very easy to adapt to their new life, and her favourite thing about their new home was the bathtub. Looking back on the resettlement program, Ruth knows it was a good decision, for her and her family. It made their lives a lot easier, as well as better in the long run. The Priddle children, the oldest Ralph is now 68, have had successful careers and families of their own; but Pushthrough will always be a part of their family heritage.

"I think there should be money made available to keep up the graveyards in these places because that's our memories and our history. It was like leaving our people on the point, leaving them behind. I left two children and my in-laws...I would like to see pictures and things...about Pusthrough. Maybe someday my grandchildren may come back and see these things, and then they will know where they came from".

Mrs. Ruth Priddle is happy about the community work being done to commemorate the local heritage of Milltown and Head Bay d'Espoir linked to the resettlement program and the abandoned fishing towns. She has gone back to Pushthrough a few times since the resettlement, once with the Pushthrough Reunion of 1991, and says it remains a lot the same. She and her family hope to celebrate a reunion in the coming year, including going back out to see Pushthrough.
