Casey was a devoted member of the Riverside Lions Club and also belonged to the Knights of Columbus-4th Degree, the Fellowship Club of Winnipeg, the Red Cross, Manitoba Motor League, Golden Boys of Manitoba, the Red River Exhibition Association, and the Odd Fellows Club. As an Army, Navy and Air Force Veteran, and former President of the 11th Field Ambulance Association, Casey was active in the Royal Canadian Legion, as well as in the Liberal Party (at both the provincial and federal levels). Not surprisingly, Casey was a member of the Showmen's League of America and Showmen's League Canadian Chapter, as well as the International Association of Amusement Parks. He was also an honorary chief of the Sioux-Salteaux tribes of Saskatchewan, a relationship reflected in the many large events held by the tribes at Rendezvous Park.

For outstanding leadership in community service, he received the City of Winnipeg Community Award in 1968.
