All of the artifacts Westfield uses are thought out carefully and placed in such a way as they may have been placed (or in some cases, definitely were placed) by the original owners of the homes. This sideboard in the kitchen wasn't owned by the Misener family, but a number of other artifacts on display in the home were.

In 2007, many photographs of the home were taken for record keeping. In them we can see the artifacts on display within the home, as well as the general quality of the house. We can see that the exterior siding is once again falling prey to the weather. The interior of the home is in good condition, however.

The first floor bedroom of the Misener house shows the care taken with the artifacts to create a lived-in space. The inclusion of dolls and clothing helps to show styles and available types for cloth from the 1860s.

The artifacts on display in a home can change to suit the seaons or a changing family requirement. The parlor, which in 2007 held a couch and seemed to be used as a visiting space as been in 2008 refurnished to including a writing desk and more work space. The artifacts collections work together with the research commities and the building volunteer family to create the most realistic atmosphere for the home.
