Edmonton's next Grey Cup appearance came in 1990, when they played against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, in which Winnipeg won 50-11.

The Eskimos next Grey Cup victory was in 1993, where they played Winnipeg once again. Unlike the previous time, Edmonton won 33-23 with help from slotback J.P. Izquierdo.

Edmonton last Grey Cup appearance in the 1990s was in 1996, when Edmonton was defeated by Toronto 43-37.
