Columbus House
The Columbus House boarding home was constructed in 1909. It housed many A.N.D. Company employees who needed a place to live while establishing themselves in Grand Falls.

Early houses in the town were modeled on Edwardian architectural styles. The sweeping roofs on some of the houses on Hill Road are splendid examples of this.

Rock walls were prominent throughout the townsite and some of these can still be seen on Mill, Cabot, Carmelite and Hill Roads. The Grand Falls House property is also fronted by a fine stone wall.

The end of High Street leading to the mill was where a typical English roundabout was constructed to control the flow of traffic. It is still operational today and has been given heritage designation by the town.

Another peculiarly British object to be found in various places throughout the community was the lion's-head fountain. One of only two known remaining fountains can now be found in Church Road Park. The other is at the heritage site in Botwood.
