Getting here from there has been made easier with the creation of the Trans Canada Highway, but some issues of transportation still remain. There is no longer a passenger train service into or out of Revelstoke. The Trans Canada Highway was not built for the volume of traffic it now sees and there are many accidents and fatalities each year. There are days every winter when the highways outside of Revelstoke are closed due to avalanches and to allow for the controlled shooting down and clearing of the snow slides. |
