"Mrs. [Biddy] Odell participated in many community organizations including Meals on Wheels, the Wetaskiwin Girl Guides, and the Immanuel Anglican Church, but will likely be remembered for her passion for local history. She wrote histories of the Wetaskiwin Girl Guides, the Immanuel Church, did research for A. Bert Reynolds two-volume history of Wetaskiwin, Siding 16, and in 1976, was named the first archivist of the City of Wetaskiwin Archives. In 1975, the Wetaskiwin Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture named Mrs. Odell "Citizen of the Year." (City of Wetaskiwin Archives, Odell, Biddy)
