A J.U.G.S. poem
"Twas just before May Day
And with coffee and bun
Team one was a meeting
To cook up some fun
Carnations were piling up
Over our heads
Entertainment for banquet? No.
Let's take to our beds
Just think how we've slaved
For Elsie this year
We're too pooped to play
More kleenex here
The goose will look great
All covered in white
Joe certainly worked
With all of his might
How many flowers
Do you think we have made
The float is real glamorous
With the gold aig"

Kiwanis
Kiwanis was an active service club in Port Moody. They not only entered floats in the parade, but they supplied much more. Some years they held a concession stand which sold hot dogs and coffee. Other years they sponsored the May Queen and supplied her car and driver. Members of Kiwanis served as judges for the parade. They also supplied clowns to march in the parade.
