Harry and Etta Grant received this dresser as a gift from Harry's father. Originally it had an attached mirror. After their marriage in New Brunswick in 1918, Harry and Etta moved to Saskatchewan to farm and brought assorted household effects with them.

This piece of cedar furniture was shipped from England in 1904 to Eliza (Frost) Barton. She used it as a hope chest originally and later for storage in her prairie home.

Being useful for transporting effects to the Canadian prairies from previous locations, trunks also provided needed storage in new homes. Charles and Mary McMillan, who arrived in 1908 from Owen Sound, Ontario owned this classic example.

This special wooden wall clock, commemorating the 400th anniversary of Columbus' arrival in the New World, dates to 1892. James Eva brought it from Ontario early in the 20th century. The clock features a carved image of the explorer and would doubtless have been a conversation piece.

What better reminder of a former home than a family photograph? This one features four generations. Seated is Gertrude (Heffer) Sharp holding her four month old daughter Florence. The two men are Gertrude's father and grandfather. The photograph, taken in about 1905, came from New Brunswick to Saskatchewan six years later.
