Hugh Cameron Watson married Wanda Jane MacLellan (1885-1973) and they had two daughters: Lorraine Colville and Helen Doddridge Watson. He was a kind generous and loving man and father. He was a member of the Masonic Order, he loved to play cards and dance. After the Second World War he quit the blacksmith shop to continue his work in engineering and helped to build, improve, and pave the roads on the Gaspe Coast.

The following is a transcript of a letter to Samuel Watson from England written by Sarah Possee, his niece. It is written in copperplate writing on a double sheet of heavy paper and folded so that the fourth page is the envelope. It was sealed with red sealing wax. The following transcript is typed, spelled & punctuated as Sarah Possee wrote it. This precious letter is in the possession of Samuel Watson's great-grand-daughter, Helen Watson.
