Other Communities Succeed Edison 1911
As the railway worked its way towards Clyde, members of the community participated in the work. Many of them must have thought how access to rail for shipments of products and supplies would assist their lives.
But the railway did more than help the little community; it drew the centre of activity away from it. The Nickerson store in Clyde took business away from the Sheppy store in Edison. Regular rail service was initiated between Edmonton and Athabasca through Clyde in 1912.
