Eric and Evelyn were avid musicians, in the old-time country tradition of the Ottawa Valley. They enlisted fellow musicians and recorded their favorite fiddle tunes on a series of cassette albums.
Then, inspired to encourage other old-time country musicians and fans, they organized a series of annual fiddlers jamborees, held on the first Saturday evening in November at Pine Lodge in Bristol, Quebec. Old-time country aficionados knew to arrive early in order to have a seat. The players ranged from the very young to the very old, accompanying fiddle music with piano, guitar, bass, and banjo.
