F.S. Clench death



By 1871 the business was being run by son William. F.S. Clench died that year at the age of 82. His younger son Thomas died the following year in an accident along the train viaduct to Port Hope.

Clench furniture specialty



By 1861 the Clench furniture business was valued at $6000 and was making a wide range of furniture in a wide range of woods. The company became famous for furniture in tiger stipe and birds-eye maple.
