Bowling

Each year, the Big Brother association would have a bowling tournament each year, in order to raise money for their charity. They would get teams to collect pledges and donate the money to the association. Winners would be awarded a trophy. Shown in this photograph are members of the bowling team.

"Each year, Big Brothers used to have bowling tournaments and they would get various organizations to collect money on their behalf and turn it over to the Big Brothers. This is the Sudbury Regional Bowling Team. Each member would collect money to represent their bowling team and turn it over to Big Brothers and the winners of the bowling team would get trophies etc."

Chamber Cleanup

The police used to have the Police Youth Club Centre, where the youth club used to gather. They would participate in activities such as boxing and heavyweights. In this photographs the youth are cleaning the chamber.

Baseball

Members of the "C" Platoon formed a baseball team in the 1970's. They would challenge other local teams to a friendly game. Cst. Rudy Brunelle and Cst. Gary Zadow are shown here in the photograph.

Stretcher Venture

The Stretcher Venture was a fundraiser for the United Way. Members of the Police Service, as well as the Ontario Provincial Police and Royal Canadian Mounted Police would participate. They would form of group of five teammates. With one teammate on a stretcher , the other four teammates would carry the stretcher. The event was held at Lily Creek Park in Sudbury.
