The University made a commitment to provide space in the Lawson Memorial Library, which was constructed in the winter of 1933-1934 and opened for use in June 1934. In his annual report to the University for 1933-1934, Fred Landon wrote that the "Jury Collection of Indian relics" had been donated to the University and that "Messrs. Jury have been offically appointed Honorary Curators of this material". In the University's 1935-1936 annual report Landon made the first official reference to "the museum", and in 1937-1938 Amos and Wilf filed their first report as Honorary Curators of the Department of Archaeology even though their creation was in fact named the Museum of Indian Archaeology. In 1945-1946 the museum was officially renamed The Museum of Indian Archaeology and Pioneer Life, and Wilf was appointed as Curator with an annual salary and a formal job description which included teaching duties.
