1999 Award- Special mention for landscaped areas.

Judges (Mike Manning of St.John's & Bud Hartley of Hanwell) comments:

Community involvement has progressed this community from a low bloomer to a new high of four blooms.
The historical society project enhances the heritage sector and is well represented.
The area between the railroad track and the main street is a vital part of the appearance.

Tidiness effort: The tidiness effort is very high due to the total commitment of the citizens and employees.
The general condition of all public and private areas was excellent.

Environmental effort: The Pipestone Creek Park is a good environmental development with good information signs along the trails.
The water supply appears to be in good shape and adequate amounts.
The three-cell sewer lagoon and the landfill site are all properly signed and well maintained.

Community Involvement: The Lions Club seems to be spear heading many projects and is a fine example of a service organization.
The Communities in Bloom and the Town Council seem to be working closely together.

Landscaped areas: Landscaped areas throughout the community on public, private and commercial lands are increasing in quality.
The newly lanmdscaped areas using the heritage farm implements is a fine project.

Turf areas: The turf areas on the public ground were well maintained and in good condition. The size of the turf areas along with the amount of manpower and equipment shows good co-operation within the workforce.
