Millet Communities in Bloom
Judges (Ken Anderson of St. Peters Bay, PEI & Jack Wetmore of Frederickton, New Brunswick) Comments
Year 2001

Tidiness Effort~ Top notch.

Environmental Awareness~ very strong performance.
You have asolid commitment to recycling, even the new initiative to handle florescent bulbs and old computers.
Your plan to use sewage effluent for subsurface irrigation at the new soccer complex is commended.
Your efforts here are limited only by lack of information. As you become aware of new opportunities, you grab them and run!

Natural and Architechtural Heritage Conservation~ Another very strong area.
Your first class museum, the development of theme beds to commemorate the past, building preservation, and interpretive plaques - all add to your communities sparkle.

Landscaped areas~ Very attractive, very well done!
We saw good balance of plant material, and were particularly impressed with the rock integrated into some sites visited.
The use of natural materials in designs is encouraged.
We found the theme beds a most intriguing concept. Kudos!
Your coordinated signage adds another subtle but important contribution. Excellent!

Floral Displays~ Very attractive, pleasing color combinations, and very well maintained.
Your extensive displays are an impressive reflection of the Town's enthusiasm and pride!
We can only begin to imagine the amount of TLC - and anguish over your early drought - you have lavished on this area. Beautifully done!
